November Socks - Cascading Leaves

Pattern:  Cascading Leaves by Jeanne Townsend

Yarn:  The Alpaca Yarn Company's Paca-Peds HT

Colorway:  #604 - Fireside

While I love the socks, I wasn't a great fan of the yarn.  It was a little scratchy to work.

But, on the good side --- I love the color (which is a little darker in real life).

So ......88 grams used out of my stash and another pair of comfy socks in case the weather here in Florida EVER turns cool enough to WEAR socks.

October Socks

I won't say a whole lot about this yarn.  Since it's discontinued, my concerns are kind of moot.

1.  This was one skein ---- apparently dyed different from one end to the other.  I have two decidedly different socks.  One is much more white than the other.

2.  For sock yarn this was a heavy weight.  Great if you live in the frozen tundra. Not so much if you live  in Florida.  LOL

With that said ....I actually DO like these socks and I love the pattern.  It was fun to do, but not so mind consuming that I couldn't chat with friends while I knit.

DETAILS:

Yarn: Farmhouse Yarns Fannie's Fingering Weight  (discontinued)

Colorway:  Autumn  (Seriously, that's the name.  Does ANYTHING about these colors say autumn to you.  Among my friends they all felt it was Christmas more than Autumn. LOL)

Pattern:  Pin Stripe  . . . it's a freebie pattern on Ravelry.

So head on over there.  You KNOW you want a pair of your own.

Happy knitting!

September Socks

Here are my September socks.  The pattern is Neldoreth by Rich Ensor.

I used Hazel Knits Artisan Sock yarn in Cirrus colorway and size 2.25 and 2.0 circular needles.

These socks took a while because of the traveling stitches; and the conversion from leg to foot after the heel was a bit of a challenge, but they turned out beautiful and comfortable.

Pirouette socks started in 2013 and finally finished this month!

Knit on 2.25 mm circular needles using Knit Picks Gloss Fingering in Kenai colorway.

The only part that gave me trouble was transitioning from the heel to the decreases on the cabled section.  I just had to follow the instructions and they worked out fine.

March Socks

I'm still knitting socks, in between knitting for charity and knitting sweaters for my grandchildren.  Here are the ones I've knitted this month.  I'll try to be more faithful in posting them as I finish.

October Socks

Pointelles
Here are my Pointelles, pattern by Cookie A, done in Blowsy Rose by PigeonRoof Studios.  I fell in love with the color name, and it is just beautiful.

This is the second pair of Pointelles I have done.  I must be getting better because the charts made more sense to me this time through so I had a better rhythm.

I am so sorry to see this group grow so small.  I have always enjoyed seeing the variety of socks that are made.

My July socks are Celtic Braid Socks #157 by Lynda Gemmell. I made them using Miss Babs Cosmic Babette in Freckles.

I love purple and blues, especially turquoise, so these suit me well.
