Handspun Swap Socks

Handspun Swap Socks by Creations by Uli
Handspun Swap Socks, a photo by Creations by Uli on Flickr.

Finally I managed to finish a pair of socks. These socks were made from a wonderful 3-ply handspun sock yarn. All done for a fun Round Robin Swap. We sent some fibre off to someone who spun it, then the person who spun it sent it to a third person and that third person knits the handspun into something and then it goes back to the original person. So in this swap my knitting was done and my recipient said she'd love a pair of socks so a pair of socks it is!!! I so hope they fit!!! I love how they turned out. :-)

May socks, whew!

I just finished these:  Khotan by Hunter Hammerson in Araucania Ranco, colorway Soft Pink.  This pattern was fun to do.  Denise

May Socks

Only one pair of socks finished this month, these are ankle socks (the last pair til the sock yarn leftovers stash is built up again!) for my friend, M.  They were knit on 2.5mm needles, 60sts with 10 rows rib.  I kept the rib into the foot but added a little mock cable to them for something different.  These were the 4th pair of ankle socks for her, plain old stockinette was getting boring, lol.  They were started on April 6, finished May 20.  The light blue is leftover Invicta yarn, the dark blue and multi is leftover Socken-Effekt Strickgarn.  Details here.

Happy knitting!

May Socks Done!

I knit two pairs of socks this month, both pairs finished in the past week.  The first is a simple k2,p2 ribbing called Starry, Starry Night after the colorway I used. The second is a plain stockinette pattern that I named Watermelon Slices.

I have also posted a photo of my sock drawer on my blog, Knitting Only Socks.   It contains 55 pairs of socks.  You'll need to click on the photo to see all of them.  Happy knitting and happy summer!

Uncle Frank Socks

Here are my May socks.  The Pattern Is Uncle Frank by Irish Girlie Knits from Ravelry, and are for my husband, Frank.  In my 40+ years of knitting I had never made him socks because he wears size 13 shoes!

They are made from Madelinetosh Tosh Sport in the Smokestack colorway with 3.5 mm needles.  The second picture is more true to color.

Frank was thrilled to finally be receiving a pair of hand knit socks!

May Socks!

Hello! I knit some plain socks out of my handspun (Sheep 2 Shoe kit in Basan) with a special heel. It's Cat Bordhi's Sweet Tomato Heel. Very simple and VERY smoooooth. You should try it! And, they are the same size but don't look that way in the photo (The "little" sock didn't get quality blocking time because I could only find 1 blocker, needed to take a photo while the sun was up, and had to do it when my son was distracted. Yep!). I will be keeping these cheerful socks for the next cold and sunless day I encounter(You know, 5 or 6 months from now). I love them.

Happy Knitting!

May Socks

This is an easily memorized pattern: an ideal take-along project! It´s "Almondine" by Anne Hanson: I knitted this pair with a thicker yarn and I really like the contrast of the yarn with the almost floral design. I love them!

Finally a pair of socks -- my first this year.  This is my own personal pattern --toe-up, magic loop with an after thought heel.  The yarn is Four Seasons Grundl Marathon Miro color 604.  Finished for my mom just in time for Mother's Day!
