A February Finish

I am so happy that I got these finished this evening!  It means I'm still on track for my personal goal of at least one pair of socks per month!  The pattern is Blathnat by Irishgirlieknits.  The yarn is The Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering in the color Hope is a Good Thing.

Bring on March!

Hoooray, February Socks!

Yes, I managed to knit two pairs of socks this month!
The blue ones are just an easy knit/purl-pair, the red ones are knit up after this pattern which is very easy! Both pairs are going to be presents for family members and friends...
So, there is still enough sock yarn in my stash: I need to knit more...and more... and more...

Yay!! February Socks!!

So yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve finished socks due to some wrist pain last fall that prevented me from knitting for more than five or ten minutes at a time.  That seems to have cleared up, so I have finally finished a pair of socks!!

St. Brigid's Carnamoyle Stockings
Cast On: 16 November 2010
Completed: 6 February 2012
Yarn: Socks that Rock Heavyweight - Jasper
Needles: US4 (3.5mm) DPNs

To be honest, although I like the finished socks enough, this wasn’t my favorite pattern.  Hoping my March pair will be a much more enjoyable knit!

February Socks

Only one pair of socks finished this month, plain old 60st vanilla socks for me, started February 5, finished the 25th. These were knit on 2.5mm needles using Patons Kroy in the tangerine jacquard colorway. Details here.
Happy knitting!

February Cowgirl Slipper Socks

I have knitted this pattern before and decided to make it in blue this time. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Rialto DK. I used a size US 4 instead of the recommended US7 for a firmer fabric and better fit.

Hope everyone has had a great February. Lyn

February Socks done early

Here are my February Socks.

They are Reeperbahn socks by Monika Eckert. I found the pattern on Ravelry. The pattern is a bit difficult, but I love the results. I am actually very fond of cables and such, much more so than colorwork.

These were made with Madelinetosh Pashmina in Jade which I bought at Sock Summit this summer. Love the color!

Rouge Brioche

Pattern: #1 Brioche Socks from Vogue Knitting, Early Fall 2011
Yarn: Ruby Tuesday (or Thursday, "temporarily misplaced" the ball band) Wollmeise

These are still 2 inches too short of comfortable. A wonderful Raveler has offered to come to my assistance. Right now, I have rubber bands under the fold (that a secret between you and me, don't tell anyone)

February Socks - Wunderkleckse

Meh!  That's the best I can say about these socks.

The yarn is Schoppel-Wolle Wunderkleckse and to be honest ... it looked much better in the ball.

The pattern is just a plain ol' stockinette sock with a slip-stitch heel.  I tried patterns.  Lord knows, I TRIED.  No pattern would play nice with this yarn.

So, stockinette it is.  The best I can say about these socks?  They're finished and they count.  ;-)

Happy knitting!

Casted Off at 11 pm last Night

Phew.... I got my January pair done. It's an old WIP. These socks were kicking around in a knitting bag forever. Sad that I only finished them just now because I love the colouring and how the colours pooled. Yes, I loved the interesting pooling this yarn created.
