July Socks

Two pairs for July, both plain vanilla socks on 2.5mm needles.  (60sts, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts)  The first pair is knit with Patons Kroy in lavender jacquard.  Started July 2, finished the 20th.  Details here.

The second pair is knit with Fortissma Socka Mexiko Color in yucatan.  Started July 21, finished the 31st.  Details here.

So glad to be back after missing June socks.  This month I finally finished Turbulence by Cookie A in Soctopus colorway River Styx.

I'm so glad to be back on track after missing June!  I finished these early in the month but forgot to post.  Although the pattern calls for STR medium the pattern is stretchy enough to easily accommodate the lightweight sock yarn.

Wee socks this time. I like to keep a few pairs around for gifts. I have enough yarn leftover to knit a baby hat too.

Solar Flare Socks

I love these socks!  They were made of  Colinette Jitterbug 100% merino wool yarn in the colorway Fire.
I really, really had intended on knitting more socks this month, but one of my sons is having a big wedding at the end of August so I've been dealing with bridal showers, buying clothes, making spa appointments,  and organizing the rehearsal dinner.  Thank goodness I'm only the mother of the groom!

I started these Ginger Socks in May for a KAL with Verybusymonkey but didn't finish them until this month. Love the way the pattern and the yarn (Dream in Color's Smooshy in Summer Sky) look together. I used size 1 needles. Happy Knitting, Renee' aka yoyosocksister

Afshari Socks for July

These are Afshari socks from Silk Road Socks by Hunter Hammersen.  They are made from Araucania Ranco, Color 101 on two size US 2 (2.75 mm) circular needles.  My photos don't really show it, but either the dark or light shade seems to be predominate on the wraps in the two major sections.  The heel and foot are knit plain.

My first socks for SAM (and only my third adult socks ever), thanks for letting me join in!  I converted the (very simple) pattern to knit from the toe up and I'm not super happy with the heel but they do fit and they are such a pretty color...too bad I don't own any clothes that color.  I could have made the cuffs much higher since I only used about 60% of the skein, but I have to admit that I got bored and wanted to move on.  And I think I need to invest in some sock blockers.

K3P1 to the toe. Size 1.5 needles. These are the first of a bunch I plan to make to give my son when comes home from South Africa in 14 months. He joined the Peace Corps last summer. Miss him.

This is the most fun I've had knitting socks in a long, LONG time.  This pattern is awesome.  I wish I would have added another repeat to the leg (I had PLENTY of yarn left over).
