What is Sock A Month 13 and how long will it last?
Sock A Month 13 is a Knit-Along in which members will try to complete one pair of socks each month. This round will run from January 2012 through June 2012, so we will try to knit a total of six pairs by the end of this round. Each month you complete a pair of socks, your hostess will give you a credit - a little letter next to your name representing the month you completed the sock in.
What if I can't finish a pair of socks in a particular month?
No problem. Just finish them in the next month, or the next, or the next!! This is a low-pressure KAL and there is no penalty for not completing a pair every month.
How do I join?
To join, e-mail SAM6for2008 AT gmail DOT com with your name as you would like it to appear in the side-bar, your e-mail address and your blog URL (if you have one). If you are a new member, blog invite will then be sent to you - once you accept it, you are ready to go! If you are a returning member, no new invite needs to be sent - but we will be sure to keep your name on the side-bar list.
What do I do when I have finished a pair of socks?
Simply post the finished socks on this blog. Your socks must be posted by noon an the first day of the following month to qualify. (For example, January socks must be posted by noon on February 1st.) Please remember to include your name (as it appears in the side-bar) and your blog URL (if you have one) at the bottom of each post. This will help your hostess know who you are, so they can give you credit for the month.
If you are having trouble with posting your picture or the post doesn't seem to want to show, or you just need help, let us know. Sometimes Blogger can be a bit difficult, especially near the end of the month as everyone is posting at once.
What counts as a finished pair of socks? What doesn't count?
For a sock to be counted as a finished pair for a particular month, it must be completed in that month. (It doesn't matter when it was started, as long as it was completed in the month you are getting credit for.) For socks to count, they must have a turned heel and must be a matched pair. (You can't put two single socks together and call them a pair.) Baby socks count. Booties and slippers do not. Also, key chain socks, earring socks, doll socks and Christmas ornament socks do not count - you only get credit for socks that a human can wear.
Do I get extra credit if I knit more than one pair each month?
Sorry, but only you can only earn one credit per month. You may knit and post as many pairs as you like, but there is no extra credit for multiple pairs.
Are there any prizes involved?
There may be, if we get prize donations. If not, we'll just knit along for fun!
I have an on-line store / Etsy shop. Can offer discounts for SAM13 members?
Yes!! E-mail Zonda at SAM6for2008 AT gmail DOT com and your information will be put in the side-bar for our SAM13 members!!
